iPhone vs Blackberry? What's the better phone?
August 17, 2008: The great debate is around which phone is better, the iPhone or the blackberry? Everyone that owns a iPhone seems to rave about it and everyone that owns a blackberry seems to call out the flaws with the iPhone. So I ask again, which is the better phone?

I've personally used blackberry's for years and recently moved to an iPhone. In my opinion the blackberry is the best phone in 2007 hands down, but the iPhone is the phone of 2014. I feel like I'm living in the future everytime I used. What do you think? See the reviews below.

I also asked blackberry users if the iPod touch would satisfy their needs. Vote to view responses:

Anonymous (10/28): the iphone puts the blackberry to shame. I bet blackberry comes out with a touchscreen blackberry device (report)
Anonymous (11/4): you can't beat the iphone touchscreen and the software behind it. (report)
Anonymous (11/13): Blackberry has better email, but eaiser to read email on the iphone. The web is better on the iphone. Volumn is better on blackberry. (report)
Anonymous (12/21): Apple is back with another whack. The iPhone just sucks just like the Ramones. All they ever had was the ipod which is now just a little freaking peapod. Now they come up and say Hey, look we have a brand new pod, but now it's buried in sod. (report)
Anonymous (12/30): I switched from a BB Curve (AT&T) to an Iphone about a month ago and have been very impressed with the unit. However, there are numerous shortcomings compared to the BB. Having changed PDA type phones several times I can honestly say that none of them are perfect. Regardless which one I've had, I have always craved features on another. Bottom line, at least with the Iphone the web browsing is PC-like, emails are easier to read, and the unit is down right cool. Whether or not I stay with Iphone long term depends on how quickly they fix their shortcomings. I'm hoping the February update will take care of some! (report)

Anonymous (1/11): I've used a BBerry Curve intensely for 30 days. Home user, no Enterprise. Mac. No joy. BBerry is nice but sync probs aggravate. Traded in for iPhone and in 1 hour all was fine, in fact perfect. I'll never switch back! (report)
Anonymous (1/22): This, to anonymous's post on 11/15, I think you need to re-evaluate some of your facts. For one, if you start a text and a phone call comes in, when you end the call it goes right back to your text. Also, it is extremely easy to enter numbers and email addresses from an email to your address book by just touching it and adding it to your contact. I would also like to mention that synching the iPhone is extremely smooth compared to the blacberry. If I had more time I would go through and correct all of your other missleading theories about the iPhone, but I urge you to make sure your facts are correct before you put them on them on a review and sway peoples decisions on what to buy. (report)
Anonymous (1/22): The list of things that anonymouse gives for things that the iphone does poorly has a lot of flaws, and what is right I would rather do without becasue of the iPhones magnificent technology. Also, I have a lot of female friends who own iPhones and the nails are not a problem at all (and why in the world would you want nails for a blackberry btw??) (report)
Anonymous (1/29): Wow, anonymous from 11/15 must not know what he is talking about, the iphone does tell you when you have a new email; there is a red circle on the postage stamp for "mail" with a number in it, that number is how many new emails you have. and it alerts you when you have a new text. Also the lock button is on the top right corner on top of the phone, not to hard to find. not to mention you can find all the help you need online in the "fingertips" videos on apples website (which you, incidentally, you can watch from the iphone). you also can jump to the bottom of a page; just touch the bottom of the scroll bar :-P. also no need for speed dial you have the favorites section; so unless you have 30-40 speed dials this should work almost as fast as speed dial. (report)
Anonymous (1/29): Cont'd from above; the calender thing i don't know what to tell you, he must have absolutely no clue what he is doing with it because it is very easy to input and change the calender. also, why would you want a zoom on these cameras? there is no point, they are 2MP, fixed lens so it would be digital; so as if the quality wasn't bad enough w/ 2MP imagine it at .5MP when you are zoomed in. Also if you can't remember how you organized your contacts then you shouldn't own a smart phone. also the voice memo, don't need it that is what notepad is for. not to mention the phone goes back to the email after the call. so i hope anyone who reads the anti-iPhone post reads this. (heres a plus, it looks better, stores much more, syncs easier with iTunes, and is actually easy to learn) (report)
Anonymous (1/31): They actually both suck compared to the treo 680. I gave my treo 650 up for an iphone and I sorely miss the physical keyboard, goodlink, SD-slot, reasonably responsive webbrowser and email client. (report)
Anonymous (1/31): They actually both suck compared to the treo 680. I gave my treo 650 up for an iphone and I sorely miss the physical keyboard, goodlink, SD-slot, reasonably responsive webbrowser and email client. I tried the blackberry curve, but its webbrowser was even worse (scroll around to find the google search field?), and I don't at all like how the trackball feels. (report)
anon123 (2/15): I LOVE the iPhone... its amazing and anyone who says anything different is crazy! (report)
Anonymous (2/16): I actually undoubtedly know more them you; blackberry has an inferior OS, crap for onboard memory, bad music support, bad OS X support, not to mention not so infrequent service outages, and a very crappy key board (try using that POS with anything but small fingers or with one hand!!!) not to mention that windows vista was probably the worst new technology of the year, and Mac products are in every way superior to Microsoft, Dell, HP, Gateway, Sony, Etc. name me one windows computer with 8 cores @ 2.8GHz, expandable to 16Gb ram, 3TB HDD for $2799? (report)
yo123 (2/21): iphone's are the best phone out right now and thy will be until apple makes a new one so all yall haters get over it man apple is the absolute best brand for computers an phones so go suck a big $&!? Mmkayy just get over yall cheap ass phones and admit it iPhones are the best. Yea I am a very proud mac and iPhone owner. : ) I got my phone the day it came out and I still love It and apple has made updates and things for it which is just gonna make it better and yall can bate on it more..oh yea and voyagers are straight up gay they look cheap and if your gonna make it touchscreen go all the way baby not just half the phone that's pretty fucking gay to me.well I don't have to prove myself anymore iPhones are the best and they will stay that way. So get over it and go buy one. (report)
Anonymous (3/20): Black Berry is for old people, the iphone is for the younger generation. So if your old like over 30 use the Black Berry you'll like that more then the iPhone. :) (report)
shaiinfomed (4/4): I love the iphone. I love the fact that it has a built in ipod as my business keeps me on the go. However the Internet is a bit slow and they could stand to power it up with a bit more memory. I would like voice recognition calling. It would make it easier when I am driving to be able to call out a name and my phone call it without me having to pick up the phone. I think they need to allow you upon activation to be able to customize some of the buttons on the phone more suitable to the person that owns it. Examples are Doctors have a button that takes them to the latest medical news or updates. Lawyers able to get the latest on legal procedings. Those are just to name a few. They could stand to slim down the iphone just a tad. Also when people are talking on the phone they need to create some kind of way for people not to accidentally hang up on the person they are talking to because of one slip of the finger. That has happened to me on business calls and it's quite annoying. However you can't beat the touch control screen. I also love being able to watch crisp vidoes on it and it takes amazing pictures. I think they could let it have wireless syncing that would be great. The iphone is sleek and beautiful while the blackberry is still ugly and bulky. The key screen has bigger keys to punch when you are trying to text or create an email. The iphone is a very powerful little machine. (report)
Anonymous (4/10): zzzzzzzzzzzzz (report)
Anonymous (4/11): Ignore the other column. It's infested with RIM investors, greedy old bastards, and "the man". Besides, the iPhone SDK changes everything. See http://www.blackberrytoiphone.com for more info. (report)
Anonymous (4/17): The iPhone is THE MOST OVERRATED phone in history. Everyone thinks its "sooooo awesome" because of its user interface, which, admittedly IS very nice. The greatness of the phone ends there, though. I own a MacBook and love Apple products, but the iPhone is the most overrated of all of them, and BlackBerry is a far superior phone. Why? 1. E-mail: Blackberry's Push E-mail blows the iPhone out of the water. I get e-mails forwarded to my phone in seconds from all three of my e-mail addresses, where as you have to waste battery life on the iPhone to log to your various e-mail accounts and search for new mail. 2. AT&T sucks! I couldn't even make calls from my house in a city with over a million people. I would rather be without a phone than have to have one on AT&Ts shitty network. 3. BlackBerrys are 3G, iPhones aren't. The EDGE network sucks. The internet is great and looks cool, but the fact that you have to wait 20 minutes for a page to load really detracts from that. 4. The Full screen keyboard on the 8830 and Curve is SO much better than trying to type on a screen. Think about it: would you really rather your computer's keyboard be on a touch screen rather than feeling the keys? I don't think so. (report)

ltcdrdata (4/18): Even though most a lot of the criticism on the iphone is correct I still give it a slight advantage over the BB, because the iPhone is a 1.0 product that still needs to mature. And seeing the updates we have and the upcoming 2.0 version it will get better and better and just like when I switched from Windows to OS X after some time I will wonder how I could work with 'that system' As for the points here to the right 4. copy paste -> real shortcoming will be resolved in a next version I'm sure of that. 5 No help, haven't needed any help ! The iPhone if frigging userfriendly. 5. lock on demand : top key. 6. Draft email: really miss that hopefully next version. 7 ring profiles never needed them, used them and found them a Pita because I often forgot to override them and missed some important calls, I prefer manually muting the phone. 8. search can be done using third party soft and will be in next version. 10 Dead right!!! 11. use the (third party) find function. 12 I'm on a Mac now, syncing is PERFECT. 13-14 no need for that. 15 DEAD right really miss that feature (which my Sony Ericsson had too). 16 mmm you mentioned this in 4 already. 17: third party camera software solves this and even more !!!. 18. never had any problems with that. So for me only a few of your points stand up, and those will hopefully be solved with a next upgrade. I can live with them for that long since the iPhone is giving me some other feature that I can't live without anymore (eg web browsing experience.) (report)

Anonymous (11/15): Possibly very few will read this post but I'm taking the time from my busy day to say that if you truly need the features of the blackberry, no fun iphone screens will replace the blackberry. I've had my iphone for less than 24 hrs and here's what the iphone "does not" have in comparison to the blackberry 8800: 1. No voice memo option 2. No voice text option 3. No auto text (I set up in my blackberry that if I type "plmk" it types out "please let me know" and a 100 other auto texts I set up to be fast and efficient 4. No cut and paste (are you kidding me?) 4. No help feature within the phone itself 5. Can't find how to lock it on demand (so I don't push keys in my pocket). It locks itself with a certain minute setting I set but not on demand. 6. No draft option for emails or texts (I was in the middle of a long one, my phone rang, poof, my email was gone when I hung up. 7. No ring profiles (at night I put my bb 8800 in phone only mode for emergiencies and then texts and emails don't ring all night 8. No search feature (for finding emails, texts, calls or subject matters) 9. Capitalization requires two strokes on the keyboard, bb8800 only one (holding down the key) 10. No way to jump to the bottom of a long email or texts or to the bottom of a list of emails or texts Continued in next post. (report)
Anonymous (11/15): Continued from above. 11. Calls - omg, this is the worst. No way to start typing the name of the person I want to call. I have to remember how I organized their name in my almost 700 list of contacts in order to call them. 12. Doesn't sync the tasks from my Outlook 13. No speed dialing 14. No LED light to tell me I have missed a call, have a text, email or alarm. I have to physically pick up the phone to look at it. 15. No way to easily add a phone number contained in the text of an email and add it to address book (in the bb8800 you select the number, menu, add to address book, done!) 16. No cut and paste. Need I say more on this one! 17. No camera settings menu from the camera option, no zoom 18. My 1st calender entry repeated itself for a week (even though I coded it "repeat: none" and blocked out 8 hours for each of those days, even though it was a 1/2 hour appt.) Wonder what discoveries I'll find in the next 24 hours? Oh, I forgot, I'm bringing it back today. And having to pick up a new SIM card from my Blackberry store that dies when I had the iphone activiation. Wish I read a post like this before I got caught up in the iphone bedazzlement. (report)
Anonymous (11/23): Did you go back to the blackberry? I was thinking of getting the iphone but the keyboard on it is so clumsy + AND I love the email on my pearl... (report)
patamou (11/25): Blackberry is more secure than the iPhone in terms of security and encryption, we may manage all features. (report)
Anonymous (11/29): Thank you anonymous poster for the list of things iphone does not have, just what i was looking for! (report)
trwatr (12/5): Thanks as well for the list of things the iphone does not have. I was so close to purchasing one. Actually, I bought the Palm Treo instead and it does all the features that you mentioned the Blackberry does and I'm a little surprised that the iphone (for it's price) doesn't have the simple features that you mentioned the bb has. So that means that there will be an upgrade on the iphohe really soon and that will suck for those who spent several hundred dollars on it. (report)
Anonymous (12/6): I took my iPhone back and bought a BlackBerry. I thought the iPhone was a glorifed iPod and nothing more. (report)
hxc1578 (12/6): Because Its Just cool (report)
Anonymous (12/11): I believe that there is certainly no doubt that the iPhone is innovative, attractive and lots of "fun". Its tons of features are great and its interface is definitely groundbreaking. Unfortunately, it is mediocre as a phone. I really have nothing to add to the very well thought-out and comprehensive list that has already been provided here. I am also not comfortable with the iPhones complete reliance on the touch screen... I like the tactile feel of buttons to push. I am eagerly waiting for the Pearl 8120, which is the 8100, but with Wi-Fi, video capture and a few other goodies. Of course, it has already been released in EU and Asia, not in NA. (report)
iliveinmusic (12/17): Thanks for taking the time, Anonymous, just what I was looking for. (report)
duchess (12/21): I have tried both and most certainly the Blackberry has a better keyboard for texting and email. Girls, if you have nails, forget the iphone! You can not tap the screen of the iphone with your nails only the ball of your finger. Talk about frustrating! The Blackberry is the way to go! (report)
Anonymous (1/17): I'm torn myself on this decision, but I must say that there is a button on the top right of the iPhone that turns off the screen and locks it. You've done a nice job on this list, and I hate to see a hole, but I must say it took me less than 2 minutes to figure it out from nothing. As an additional insight, my daughter (14) suggests that iPhones are sort of for girls and BB's are sort of for boys (long nail issue notwithstanding). (report)
Anonymous (2/11): this guy is an idiot, he thinks that the iphone will push buttons in his pocket when the touch screen only responds to the touch of a finger. tard. (report)
Anonymous (2/16): The iPhone is a terrible email phone. It is the phone for those tools who will salivate over anything apple makes. Apple products are inferior and always will be. To me, the iPhone was the stupid invention of the year, until the 1 usb outlet Macbook Air came out. Apple rips off its customers and doesnt feel a bit of shame for it. They will keep making technologically terrible products knowing morons will buy them because they look good. The Blackberry is so much better than the iPhone in every facet. Another loss for Apple. (report)
Anonymous (2/16): A message to all Apple users: LEARN SOMETHING ABOUT TECHNOLOGY!!!!!!! (report)
Anonymous (2/17): Apple is not superior in any way! The fact that they aren't open source, like any other operating system shows that they are shit. They are probably the WORST operating system, with frequent crashes and very little mobility as far as functionality. They can keep their crappy little cult following. I phone to agree with the person above me, the Macbook Air is ridiculous on its face, and shows how little attention Apple pays to technology. They are the beauty queens lagging behind in a technology race. (report)
Anonymous (2/17): BTW, try using iPhone with one hand, idiot. HAHAHAHAHHA (report)
Anonymous (2/17): Right, thats why apple is growing faster than ever and more and more people are abandoning those POS windows machines, you ever wonder why windows has so many viruses, BECAUSE THEY ARE OPEN SOURCE you stupid bastard! and i actually have been using an iphone with one hand for quite a while. And the point of the Air is for super mobility, which it accomplishes beautifully. Also are you trying to tell me that Dell, HP, and the other windows computer companies are ahead of apple where is your proof? the MacBook Pro was the FIRST laptop to use anything over the 2.0GHz Core Duo processors, the 17" MacBook Pro has a higher resolution screen then 90% of the 20" monitors out there, the OS has ZERO viruses, is more organized, and actually works compared to ANY windows OS all of which are garbage, they crash, freeze, ask you retarded questions, get viruses, imitate (very poorly) everything OS X has, and just frankly should be banned from every computer system! (report)
Anonymous (2/24): Anonymous idiots from 2/17: neither Mac OS nor Windows are open source. Your ignorance of these facts make the rest of your opinions not very credible. (report)
Anonymous (2/28): ok, not open source, but more "open" then OS X happy you picky little ass. The point is windows is not near as secure as OS X is. (report)
Anonymous (3/1): BB IS THE BEST. GPS , IM , VPN. YOU NAME IT. (report)
Anonymous (3/3): and if they do have a media player it is shit at best, no wifi, hard to use (compared to iphone), and just ugly as hell (report)
Anonymous (3/3): Only people that "love" the iPhone are those who never had a BlackBerry before! If they did, they weren't on BES and don't know what it's like to have "real time wireless sync". (report)
Anonymous (3/4): for business blackberry is fine and dandy but for everything else iphone is much better; web browsing, listening to music, watching videos (generally anything media related), getting directions is also very easy, texting, ease of use, like i said everything else. (report)
bigcarpets (3/7): Thanks for taking the time to list those features below, it's definitely helped steer me towards the blackberry. Touchscreen aside, NO CUT AND PASTE!!?? seriously!! Seeing as this website quotes the following: "In my opinion the blackberry is the best phone in 2007 hands down, but the iPhone is the phone of 2014." I could cut and paste in 1989, so not very futuristic if you ask me (report)
Anonymous (3/9): If you couldn't find the on/off button on the top right side of the screen, maybe you didn't give the phone a chance. I don't trust any of the other things you listed if that was incorrect. Mac works different from Windows. Most of these things are likely there, just have find them and adjust to a new OS. I found once I adapted to the Mac OS, I couldn't believe how difficult Windows had been for all of those years. Mac is intuitive and logical. (report)
Anonymous (3/9): READ THE REBUTTALS... this person does not know what they are talking about... THE LIST OF "MISSING" FEATURES IS MERELY BECAUSE THE PERSON DIDN"T KNOW HOW TO USE THE PHONE. (report)
Anonymous (3/13): The only "Rebuttal" was on the Lock button. Otherwise, his list is right on. I'll add another one: The BB curve can do Bluetooth wireless listening to your music. On the iPhone, this requires a "hack" to fool the phone into letting you do it. Very modern of you Apple. But really, the thing that kills the iPhone for me is the totally religious adherence AppleFreaks have to anything they put out. One more thing: the reason there aren't many virus's on Macs is because they have less than 12% of the total personal computer market share and NOBODY CARES ENOUGH to write a virus for them (report)
Anonymous (3/19): iphone virtual keyboard SUCKS because of wrong detection. I am an IMer and a traditional tactile keyboard. (report)
Anonymous (4/13): I've owned both. Blackberry Curve 8310 and an iPhone. I sold my iPhone a few days ago to go back to the BlackBerry. The ONLY thing the iPhone has that's better than the curve is the full browser (safari). There's no way in hell I'd buy another iPhone. BlackBerry all the way thank you very much! I wouldn't mind having an iPod touch though just for the full browser. Music in the blackberry is fine too and you can get 4gb miniSD cards for like $30 shipped on ebay. (report)
Anonymous (4/20): I have and LOVE my BB Pearl. I bought an Iphone and it was the most stressful 6 days of my life. I returned it on the 7th day and couldn't wait to get my BB back up again. NO speed dialing. I call a few people A LOT, and I can just hold down a button (that I can feel, btw, without looking). Can't do that on the IPhone. My BB blinks when I have a new message/reminder/alarm/email. That Iphone just sat there all black. I had to pick it up, slide it to wake it up, then go through a ton of hassle just to see what's new. Sorry, but for email, BB rules. I would buy an iphone again if they come out with updates that match my needs. I love my Ipod, I loved the browsing on the iPhone, I loved the pictures, the camera and the look of the thing. (report)
Anonymous (4/24): I have not used a blackberry but have had the iphone for less than a week and plan to take it back. The first poster's list is quite accurate from my perspective. I would add a few more complaints: 1) no ability to add groups to the iphone contacts from the phone (i realize you can do this through mac contacts). If you do add contact groups through mac contacts, you cannot do anything with those groups on the iphone -- on my razr, I could send to my "family" group and hit all my siblings. 2) No ability to delete an individual call 3) No ability to clear your missed calls without clearing your entire call long 4) No ability to make the missed calls not be red 5) NOOOOO warning that the battery is going to completely die until it is ~10 minutes from death. 6) No ability to forward an individual text 7) No ability to send photos through MMS text 8) Can only send one photo at a time via EMAIL! 9) No ability to delete parts of a text log... think about this. I am texting my sister all the time and some of it I would rather my husband or kids not see - like the surprise party plans! You cannot delete the party plan texts without clearing the entire long conversation that has phone numbers and such i do not want to delete. In general i hate the lack of control! I hate not having speed dial as well. For me the battery fiascos two times in a row is a showstopper! I will be trying a Blackberry. (report)

Tracker (4/27): First of all, this post is about Blackberry vs iPhone, and not Mac os X. I own a Mac and the operating system is a lot better than Ms Windows. I use it for research including software development and have found little problems. Going back to the phones, I think that both phones have their users, the blackberry is for a business/information user while the iphone is for a gadget like person. Both have ups and downs but on the whole i think both are better than Windows Mobile devices. After some considerable consideration and thought i finally went with a blackberry. (report)
apaszka (5/16): I have a BB 8310, the BEST phone I ever owned. My next phone probably will be the BB Bold 9000, I think this phone is the best phone ever. It has all the features that the iPhone does and ++++++++++, but I have to wait until it will be released (report)
Anonymous (5/24): iphone can't compete with the ease/latency of blackberry's email. visual voicemail is very nice, though. (report)
Anonymous (5/25): I'm a huge Apple fan but the iPhone lacks too many basic phone and smartphone functions to be truly useful as a business tool. dudernahada (6/10): I was thinking about getting the iPhone but after reading the post of what the iPhone doesn't have I'm a blackberry man for life. Cut and paste doesnt seem like anything too important but god damn you don't know what you're missing until you don't have it! (report)
Anonymous (6/11): The iphone is over rated nobody needs all those things in one phone. You get bored after a while. I'm 14 and have a blackberry pearl, yes I said it I'm 14 with a blackberry even though most people think it's crazy, my friend has the iphone and said that if she could she would switch the iphone for a blackberry. The iphone has also been hacked many times and doesn't have many of the great applications that the Blackberry does. Unless you're never home or in the country you really don't need all the things that the iphone has. (report)
Anonymous (6/21): Thank you so much for the useful information. I originally wanted a blackberry, and then I realized that the option of getting an iphone was available to me. But I just didn't know. Glad I found this site. I'm definitely sticking with my instincts and getting a blackberry. Now which kind...I originally thought curve, but now I'm definitely thinking that I should get a blackberry 8800. (report)
Anonymous (6/23): I personally never buy something that has just been released, especially from Apple who after 3 months will release a new iPhone. I am a BB user because they are tried and tested and work amazingly well. My friend has the iPhone and it is a sweet device, but for me the shortcomings really bug me. no MMS????? Crazy. Wait a year when the iPhone is in its nth generation, then maybe think about investing: don't spend $700 for it to be obsolete a few months later). BTW I am an avid mac user and have been for years, I love Apple, but I still don't trust anything 1st, 2nd or even 3rd generation from them. (report)
Anonymous (7/8): blackberry user!! and never leave my 8320 behind!... After sadly giving in to the over hyped iphone craze, I unfortunarely made the mistake of purchasing one. I have to say- what a dissapontment. Besides no MMS (?), I can't even get started on the keyboard function. The bb is practical, yet everything that u want and need, just right! Ohhhh plus I have the os 4.5 software (heehee) which jus made me grow way more attached to my bb.. Never again will I switch! (report)
Anonymous (7/15): I was waiting for the iPhone 3G for about 2 months, but after reading comments about the keyboad for texting on iPhone as not good, I changed my mind and now decided I will get the BB Curve 8320. Ease of texting is a must. I don't need a phone to watch YouTube videos, nor surf the net. All that can be done on the laptop! Besides, the BB seems to have a lot more features. I need the texting, organizer, address book features. Who cares about media on the mobile iphone when it lacks in more urgent features for business users! (report)
Anonymous (7/16): blackberry is made for business and has the best features. iPhone is attracting the teenagers and 20-30 year olds. Its a fad.. It has no real use in a business. Sure you can make an excuse but Blackberry is far more superior. (report)
Anonymous (8/2): The most annoying things about the iphone for me: (a) can't use it (easily!) with one hand, (b) terrible battery life, mine usually lasts no more than 8-10 hours with fairly modest use (c) typing sms / email is difficult with the touch screen, and takes me longer than with a normal phone, (d) no visual email / sms indicator, (e) iphone can become slow when battery goes low (f) missing many standard phone features eg. picture messaging, voice dialing, video etc. On the plus side the iphone looks nice, smooth operation (normally), and has an excellent web-browser. But it's just not enough to keep me from taking it back to the shop and going back to BB. (report)
Anonymous (8/13): BB vs. iPhone: B=Business, email processing priority; i="me" (not antagonising here - read this as "not work"..read on). Those who need to be connected to "the enterprise" will likely favour BB. Those who prioritise "the office connection" less will enjoy the bias toward the other features iPhone provides. The reviews in either column support this bias. There is no right or wrong. (report)
aml (8/13): I wasnt sure witch phone was better originally but after reading all this I definatly like the way the blackberrys sound. Blackberrys have been arould for years so most of the problems seem to be fixed. I never really liked the way the iphone looked either. It is bigger and wider than blackberrys. I felt like I was holding a brick!!!!! I also definatly need an actual keyboard not just the touchscreen! My brother has an iphone and he said that the only way to make is any good is to hack it and add things. The blackberry is coming out with an all touchscreen phone like the iphone, but I wont get that either. I like keypads!!!! (report)
asfd (9/8): thanks for those posts. unfortunately most of them must've been written by kids or ppl who don't know how to distinguish between different needs and home/office use. if apple doesn't come up with useful updates an patches the only thing the iphone does well, will be browsing and music, so i would rather buy an ipod, blackberrys are in business for a long time now and actually they work best in managing email and stuff like that. both of them (iphone and bbs) have drawbacks, but i fact most of the ppl are blinded by shape and color of the iphone. no speed dial? my alcatel one touch anno 1990 could accomplish that ;) <flame>. and talking bout your macs... try coding symbian, java, c++, and you will switch to linux or windows...
